How did Stephen Harper win?

I'm still bitter about the election and I struggle to understand how he won. First prime minster in the British common wealth to be found in contempt of parliament, that's even with the sponsorship scandal, which by the way the sponsorship scandal whistle blower became a Conservative MP under Harper's regime, he gave tax payer money claiming to assist bringing a NHL franchise to Canada, if that wasn't enough of a scandal the business man who received the money is also responsible for attempting to introduce FOX NEWS NORTH (a branch of fox news) to Canada. That is not left leaning media source. WHAT THE HELL HOW DID HE WIN.
