Is my keyboard broken? Free 10 points?

Around christmas my mom bought me a computer. I got into gaming, and i've run into the same error with another game; Maplestory. Whenever I set hotkeys, like F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, and I click them, (I can't set them because it exits me out), It will tab me out to the page and I have to go back into fullscreenmode. I can't set hotkeys in that, a few months later I quit because I got bored. Then I picked up Darkeden, a game I used to play and have so much fun with. Now? I can't set hotkeys, which extremely pisses me off, and with the fact that you literally NEED hotkeys to go pvp and PvE. Someone, please tell me away to delete these things it sends me to, (Like windows help and support tab, it sends me to when I hit F1), or just tell me how to reset my keyboard, or change it.
